May Meeting Minutes

The May meeting was called to order by President John Knox at   3:10 with approx 30 members attending.

Introduced 2 new members.

Treasurer's Report:
Hardy's Show:
79 registered cars x $20 = $1580
Donation to the Dallas PTA = -$40
11 new members/dues x $28 = $308
After show total = $1869
Towels & dash plaques = $543.23 (Hardy will pay half to all)

Old Business:

Hardy Show:
Awesome show
Managers' meeting the Monday after the show
   Hardy owners were blown away
   Biggest turnout ever, including Chevy shows
   Definitely want the show next year
   Ford regional rep was excited about show
   Possibly do a Ford vs. Chevy event
Maybe make this a national show in the future

July 1st: Team Ford Marietta Hwy 41 Cruise-in
July 4th: Cartersville

June Meeting:
Meeting will be June 16th due to Fathers' Day.
Members will then caravan to Stars & Strikes cruise-in
Will meet at Hardy Ford @ 3pm

Tara Show:
Had 10 members attend

Hardy Ford:
Possibly ask them if we can store the trailer there.

March 2012 Meeting Minutes

Meeting was held 03/18/2012 from 3:15 - 4:00pm and presented by John Knox, Club President. Approximately 30-35 members in attendance.

Upcoming Shows and Events

• Streetside Classics Show
  • Instead of having an actual show, the club's April meeting will be held on the 21st at the Streetside Classics location on Thorton Road.
  • Patrick Kelley will be hosting a judge's clinic at the April meeting in preparation for the Hardy Family Ford Show on May 12th. 
  • Streetside Classics will be hosting their own show on June 2nd and will be looking to the club for entrants as well as people willing to work the show (parking, etc).

• Hardy Family Ford Show
  • The show will be held May 12th from 8am - 4pm
  • Registration is from 8am - noon
  • Judging will take place from 1:00 - 3:00pm (approx)
  • Entry fees are $20. There is no preregistration.
  • Hardy Ford will be handling trophies (approx 100 for 33 classes with 3 places each).
  • Dallas Elementary PTA will be working concessions (popcorn, hotdogs, sodas, etc).
  • Hardy Ford will also be hanging large banners on their property to advertise the show.
  • This will be an MCA-modified judged show.
  • The show is open to all Ford-powered vehicles, but the emphasis is on Mustangs.
  • We need items for both goodie bags and for door prizes.
  • Dash plaques will also be given out to the first 100 registrants. 

• Jacky Jones Tour
  • March 24th
  • Headed up by Lee Mathias
  • Will meet for a caravan at the IHOP exit 19 off I-575 in Canton.
  • The caravan will leave at 9:00am.
  • There will be a "pit stop" in Blue Ridge.
  • We will meet Jacky at the museum at 11  AM for the tour then go to the bar b que place down the road for lunch.  
  • After that we will go to his private collection.
  • Drive your Mustang, traffic will be light, scenery great.

  • Bring a chair if you plan on staying for awhile

• Gene Evans Ford Show
  • May 19th @ Gene Evans Ford 
  • The Tara Mustang Club has asked for more participation from the GRMC

• Area Cruise-Ins
  • Calendars are starting to fill up with various local events and cruise-ins
  • The GRMC calendar page will be updated soon with the weekly events.
  • Anyone who is interested can go to the GRMC Events Page and print out a by-month calendar.

Other Business

• Mustangs & Movie Making (presented by guest speaker, Producer/Director Gaylord Parsons)
  • The club was approached in October, 2011 to participate in an exterior scene for Truth Seekers: The Music of Souls (the second in an 8-10 part movie series).
  • Mr. Parsons has also expressed interest in filming several quick interviews with club members about their cars and experiences with Mustangs.
  • He is very confident that this opportunity will be great exposure for the club and its members.

Jacky Jones Tour

The Georgia Regional Jacky Jones Tour is scheduled for March 24th, rain or shine.  We will leave from the I HOP off exit 19A, I 575 North, at 9 AM.  It is approximately a 2 hour drive with a potty break (or gas) in Blue Ridge.  We will meet Jacky at the museum at 11  AM for the tour then go to the bar b que place down the road for lunch.  After that we will go to his private collection.  Drive your Mustang, traffic will be light, scenery great.  Call Lee for more information  678 986-1656

February Meeting Minutes

The February meeting was held at Fuddruckers in Marietta and came to order at 3:15pm. Even with the rainy day, we had over 30 members attend the meeting.

Debating on having the show the weekend before or the weekend after
Wounded Warrior car will be at Sandy Springs Ford on July 3rd
Club has been asked to escort him into the dealership
